Villa Tregole by Mmega

- The property is located in the picturesque countryside of Chianti and the views of rolling hills and vineyards are stunning - The property itself is large and consists of 3 separate units all under one roof. This means there are 3 kitchens and 3 sitting rooms, which allows a group to have more personal space if required. - The glass conservatory with the large dining table is a beautiful setting for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The glass allows the sun to heat up this room and it is a lovely area to relax and enjoy the views - The kitchens are fully stocked with cooking utensils and crockery making it perfect for self catering

- The property is advertised as a 7 bedroom villa. There are 5 independent bedrooms. Two in the main unit. Two in the upstairs unit and one in the side unit. The other 2 x bedrooms are within the main bedroom in the side unit. There is one bed located up on a balcony within the main bedroom and is accessed using stairs. The other bedroom is a small adjoining bedroom. This means that the two people staying in these single bed rooms can only access their beds through the main bedroom. I would think these rooms are only suitable for children. - Read the fine print when booking this accommodation. There is an extra charge for heating the villa at a fixed rate of €120 per day (very expensive). The heating is through the air conditioning unit and upon arrival we opted out of using the heat. However, the property gets very cold without the heating so after two nights we decided to pay for the heating (€360 for 3 x nights). This cost is very high especially when you are already paying a lot for the villa. - The host tried to charge us an additional cost of €55 per night for electricity but I knew that this was not included in the fine print so I had to argue against paying this charge. - Booking.com lists the villa as having a swimming pool open from 1st March onwards but upon arrival we were told that the pool was closed so we had no access to the advertised pool. - The property is located about 10-15 minute drive to the nearest town in Castellina (approx 5km walk). This means that the property is quite isolated so I would recommend having a car if staying in this location. - The roads leading up to the property are country roads with very steep hills and loose stones on the surface. We had rented a small car that struggled on some of the hills so I would recommend using a larger car more suitable to country roads - We noticed small bugs around the villa that looked like cockroaches but we discovered are actually stink bugs so it is worth being aware of these
