The property is the historic Astoria but maintained well. The check in process was a little disconcerting. You had to check it at the Hostel across the street, two flights up.
The room was clean and modernized. No AC but not needed because of the areas cool nature temperatures. Two of the windows opened about 6 inches to allow circulation. Very safe and secure building entrance.

Room clean. Staff watched while my poor husband trudged up the stairs numerous times to bring our luggage. They halfheartedly asked him if he needed help. The stairs were brutal.
Otherwise everything and everyone was good.

Cute sort of hipster hotel in a great location in Astoria. I had one of the “cabin” rooms, meaning no private bathroom, but the facilities were just steps away and never occupied. No breakfast provided, but there was coffee in the morning (yay!). All was quiet. I found free parking on the street a block away. I liked Norblad and would stay here again.
