    The niu in Düsseldorf wins on location and vibe. It's perfectly positioned near the central train station with solid public transport access, but honestly, you can walk into the city centre without breaking a sweat. The bar and reception area are great plus a huge chill-out space with games, books, the works. The staff are genuinely helpful, exceptionally so. This really colours how you experience a place. Then there are the summer realities. The AC is minimal (pretty standard for central Europe), and being on an upper floor you feel it properly. I asked for a fan twice and it took almost an hour after the second request to show up. The soap dispensers hadn't been refilled either. And when you request a queen bed, you're getting two singles pushed together with no proper topper or queen sheet—which makes for awkward sleeping. When my second booking kicked in they moved me to a different room, which was noticeably better. I ended up sleeping with the window open rather than battling the AC. That made all the difference. It's not luxury, but it's solid. The kind of place where minor operational quirks get outweighed by staff who actually give a toss and spaces that are generally comfortable. **Good to Know:** - The location is genuinely walkable; public transport is backup, not necessity - Staff will sort you if something's not right—they just might need a gentle nudge - If you're heat-sensitive, skip summer or request a fan on check-in (and maybe follow up)

    The breakfast is very nice , staff is friendly. But the AC is very weak especially during summer it’s a bit warm and lack of air in the room. The location is closed to U Bahn station and hbh, but the area nearby is a bit screechy so walking back to the hotel from hbh in the night may feel a little bit unsafe

    The room was clean and ok for the price. Check-In and Check-Out was pretty easy. There was a bit of mold in the corners of the shower but otherwise the bathroom was also clean. There were 4 pillows provided so you can adjust the height and hardness to your liking. I was on the fourth floor and the wind breaking on the building was weirdly loud.
