Martin's Comfort

We spent 3 weeks at Martin’s Comfort - late January to mid February. Our initial impressions were mixed, our room was great, really clean, lovely comfortable extra wide double bed, generous sized bathroom, balcony, good furniture with plenty of storage. We were initially concerned by the state of the swimming pool which was suffering an algae bloom - very green - and wasn’t usable. However during the next few days this was sorted out by the staff and it was lovely to have it back in use - not a huge pool but quiet and big enough to swim lengths - looked to be about 10m x 4m. The hotel has a beautiful array of pot plants, trees and shrubs throughout and these are really well looked after. The breakfasts were very good, a range of buffet items including toast, butter, jam, chicken sausages, idli, bhaji, rolls, fruit, fruit juice with freshly cooked eggs to order as well as puri to order. Worth noting that the hotel is opposite Martin’s Corner restaurant which is large and very busy with regular live music. This didn’t disturb us but you can hear the music in the background until 10.30-11.00 at night. Overall highly recommended and can properly be described as a boutique hotel. We look forward to our next visit.

The Breakfast was excellent and all the Staff went the extra mile to make us comfortable.

The staff were mostly great. The odd weird moment. The bathroom was good but definitely could’ve been cleaner. The cleanliness was lacking in some areas. Also the ability to get toilet paper and water. Being charged extra for water bottles isn’t cool - not when clean drinking water isn’t available and everything is a significant walk away.

Room really needs a make over and the bathroom needs to be totally redone. Mold everywhere and simple cleaning would get this solved. Too bad as it's quite charming hotel
