A very different world

We stayed off peak season in September so the hotel was much more affordable than peak but we loved it. So much included in the price, free afternoon guided hike around the property, hot springs on site and the breakfast was made to order each day. Entire property is large and so much to see just walking around. Room was brilliant and felt immersed into the rainforest. All staff were wonderful and helpful, I have to maintain a gluten free diet which all staff were aware of and the chef was able to cater for no problem. Only slight downside is the distance to La Fortuna town, we used uber which was easily available but the cost each way to the town multiple times was starting to get pricey, wouldn’t be an issue if we hired a car though. Overall we loved this hotel and can say it made our stay in CR!

This was my first time in Costa Rica and this was an amazing visit. Plenty to do on sight to fill in gaps between the plethora to do around this area. The night hike is definitely suggested. Our stay was Aug 27th through Sept 1 and it would rain around 3pm. And it would be a heavy rain. But it would pass quickly. Also a high clearance vehicle is recommended by everyone and is agree though roads are all pretty good.

It’s a nice hotel but I got a bit disappointed, the cover photo with the pool is actually a private bungalow pool and not for everyone. Also the food at the restaurant is pretty average and overpriced. Other than that, it’s a nice jungle setting and the hot springs are in a great natural setting and have fun slides. The river is refreshing and there are some trails around the property. Overall It’s nice but a bit out of the way from La Fortuna.
