    We booked this place last minute(3 days prior) as our other hotel had cancelled our booking. We arrived to what appeared a closed hotel. Despite it being 2pm we still had to wait half an hour for our room to be ready. We were the only guests. We were really looking forward to our time in hoi an as were celebrating our sons birthday however the staff (mother and son it seems) had no desire to talk to us through out our stay. The swimming pool was dirty and frequented by a family of rats and a snake, so we didn't use it. The gates were kept locked so we had ask permission to leave. Any request was greeted with a surly grunt. They went in our room while we were out but didn't clean it once during our 5 day stay. We weren't even given clean towels or toilet roll. Breakfast is included in the price but this is was a lie. Don't stay here. Ever.
