excellent, against what I had read.
The staff is a little slow and kind, the lack of common study (electric plugs, wifi, seat in the warmth) areas remains to progress on.

I like that the hostel is very close to the German border. If you walk for 10 minutes, you are in another country! The location is safe, but I'd be weary if walking at night; it's a 15-minute walk from the nearest train station, and some portions of the street are not well-lit. The staff are friendly, except for the man who tends to the food area in the morning. The closest grocery is a 15 minute walk close to the train station.
