This was a grand Villa, whch turned into a hotel in 1960. Everything is updated and beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous. Staff is wonderful. We loved our room. All was wonderful and I highly recommend. Just know that there is a 7 minute walk to the beginning of Salo's passeggiata.

This is a very special hotel, full of style, history and charm. With a flair for excellent service, every member of the team went out of their way to help make our stay comfortable and memorable. Superb evening meal and wine recommendation.

We booked this hotel after reading positive reports on another platforn. The Laurin is a really lovely hotel just outside and within easy walking distance to Salò, with a lovely Agatha Christie feel with warm genuine staff who want to make your stay as memorable as possible. The only drawback is that some may find the road noise annoying especially the motorbikes but not to disturb you at night only when reading by the pool. Also the garden / pool area is quite small where you feel you’re sitting on top of each other. That aside would totally recommend staying at the Laurin as we are quite discerning travellers! Thank you Laurin.

I love the old school vibe this hotel gives. It has a lot of character. Also the woman at the reception desk (i think her name was Greta) was SO helpful and gave so many good recommendations for food and activities. One thing i didnt like was there were no irons in the room. I had to either send my clothes for ironing service which i had to pay for or go downstairs and use the iron which wasnt practical for me. Otherwise, this was a beautiful hotel.

We loved our stay at Hotel Laurin. The property is far more impressive than the pictures let on. It’s a stunning building with beautiful and historic common areas. We really loved having breakfast on the patio overlooking the lake in the morning. The staff were very hospitable and helped us book a great boat rental. We were also treated to a free upgrade and loved our renovated room with the lake view.

We were also given a nice table over looking the lake for breakfast, but after going to the buffet, another guest sat at the table and the staff decided that we were the ones that should be moved. It felt as though we were being treated differently because we were 40 years younger than the rest of the guests. Hotel is beautiful inside & out, the breakfast is great and it's in a lovely spot, however unless you're 75 on a coach tour, you can likely find somewhere better... If you do stay in the area, go to Ristorante Pizzeria Papillon!

Amazing location with views of the lake while having an excellent breakfast. Service and cleanliness exceptional with 3 min walk to the centre of Salo. Front desk , Dinning room and room service can’t fault at all. Just great value. Will stay there from now on when going to lake Garda.
