The stay was amazing! Not only you get to experience the historic ryokan stay, the staffs were extremely friendly and made our stay a memorable one! The dinner and breakfast were one of the best Japanese meals we had!

Such a thoughtful, well done renovation of maybe an old merchant house. So many great details. Pristine in cleanliness. Lovely linens. So many nice extra touches (the cookies, guide book) and spacious rooms. Felt very authentic and the Japanese breakfast was delicious.

The Akari "room" is about 5 minutes drive from the main RITA Yame Fukushima hotel. But the entire house is clean and definitely have the traditional vibe. The receptionist showed us to our room when we checked in (we had to follow them with our car due to the location of the room) and helped us with our luggages. They were patient when showing us around the room, amenities (green tea was provided), and recommendations around the area. The only downside is the room partition. Level 2, is partitioned into 3 "rooms" (2 room and 1 tea room). It can be tough if there are 3 unique groups staying as the one of the middle partitioned "room" does not have an AC (only a portable AC/fan of sorts). Nonetheless, great stay and would definitely return to explore the area again!
