    We stayed here for one night because it was close to where our tour the next morning would be starting. We were in the room overlooking the street. At night, we were able to hear the people in the middle room, lower level talking and coughing. There is very little noise insulation. Also, the path up to our room was a very steep feeling staircase. The kitchen was a little dirty, probably from the previous guests. Both bathrooms are on the main floor, so hopefully it isn’t needed often in the night. The futon was comfortable, after I put a second matress on, the blanket warm, and the room a good size.

    We stayed here for 1 night. But it was one of the best decisions we made. Kenji-san was really hospitable and we were able to fully appreciate Arashiyama while we were there. He also recommends places to eat, etc. so you definitely won't have a hard time looking for the best eats around the area. Also, the place has a Ryokan feel as they have tatami mats for floors. We will definitely stay here again once we visit Arashiyama again. There are lot of places we haven't explored. Staying here will be worth your time.
