A very dirty room (rooms in fact) let down an otherwise really nice stay

Before arriving at the hotel (which we have stayed at many times in the last 20 years) I emailed to say it was my 24th wedding anniversary and we were travelling up and down the Costa brava and while we were at the golden Bahia could I have a room with a nice view… we arrived and our room was a road side room overlooking a building site with work men looking into our room 😭 we went down to reception and were told abruptly no the hotel was full and there’s nothing we can do…
So I started looking for other hotels to move to, and funny enough the golden Bahia had rooms available the next day …. But they couldn’t move us???
Anyway cutting a long story short later that evening they called us to say we could move rooms the following day, after 20 years on and off staying here would I go back … no probably.
As there is just the 2 of us now ( kids are grown up) I like to split my holiday and stay in a few holidays, we went to the golden mar menduda after this and had a wonderful experience.

Food choices,were fresh so much to choose from all great . Shows at night were exceptional. A fabulous place for families and couples alike
