Asakusa Central Hotel

Great location.

The location is perfect for a stay in Asakusa. Walking distance to Sensoji Temple, train stations, coffee shops, restaurants, places to shop — Don Quixote, Uniqlo, Muji, Gu. There is a convenience store attached to the hotel — so convenient! There are unlimited toiletries/ amenities in the lobby and free coffee/tea. The staff were helpful. Check-in is automated. The rooms are wide for Japan budget hotel standard and the bed and beddings are comfortable. There are slippers and pajamas that can be used by guests. There are free umbrellas at the lobby that can be borrowed. We got the rooms last minute so the prices were high (USD*** per night for room with 2 beds ~21 sqm, USD*** per night for double bed room, ~15sqm). I do not recommend the hotel at the rates we got them, but do recommend the hotel when the rates are low and you want to be 5 minutes from Sensoji and train stations, because the hotel is rather old. The carpeting in common areas and in the room, and the elevators are old and rundown. The bedside even has an old school vintage set up from the 80s — radio and lighting switches — needs updating. It looks like the rooms were repainted but the doors, furniture and upholstry are old and outdated. Bathroom facilities are old and the sink in my room leaked. But there is a tub and clean shower curtains and towels. The room overall was rundown but clean enough. I didn’t get the view of the Sky Tree, if that is available suggest you request. But my window was wide with lots of natural light. By the third night I can say it eventually became an overall cozy and comfortable stay, just don’t expect it to be modern or new.

Ideal spot for Asakusa

location is good shower water pressure is good bed is so so , room space is too small for 3 pax that we hardly to open the suitcase. breakfast is terrible , scrambled eggs like porridge instead of eggs. very watery. staff at breakfast area is not friendly when asked to refill the food toilet has kind of weird pee smell . after i paid the booking,, the hotel of price slash reduced very much while i paid very high for the room. beware of hotel price fluctuations. it doesnt get u cheaper price when u booked in advance staff at counter desk also not friendly when we have some problems with the airline and asked for him to help us call the airline as we dont speak japanese. the staff refuse to help with rude tone its a very unpleasant experience
