    Check in process was good and they welcomed us with the traditional Himachali cap and tika at the reception. We were asked to take out the portable speaker as it’s not allowed inside the property but it was not returned to us during checkout time and luckily I remembered while exiting the property so asked the guard at gate to bring from the reception. Room was spacious with beautiful Mountain View and decent toilet on 4th floor but we could hear the couple conversations from next door throughout for two days and this was very uncomfortable. We ordered food in room on first night and it was below average but they delivered a complimentary cake as I asked for it before arrival. Next day breakfast was good but I would not recommend this Taj property for food and stay. They have good amenities like indoor pool, gymnasium and activity area but service and food is very average compared to Taj standards. We booked the table on my wife’s birthday at their specialty restaurant “PATIALA ROOM” I mention few things at the table for the dinner but there was nothing and food was a big disappointment. I had to take the chicken out from the bowl and show to the staff “Priti” it was cold chicken in hot gravy. They claim this is a royal experience but we hardly ate anything and they didn’t place the cake after dinner which I gave to the room service guy from my room to place after dinner in the restaurant. Food was really disappointing even when there were only 4 guests including us. I’ll not recommend this property if you are going for a special occasion or relaxing trip.

    Overall room upon arrival was clean but bathroom could have definitely been cleaner, constant urine smell from toilet. I think the rooms get surfaced cleaned but needs a deep and thorough clean. Rooms are also very hot, they have a strange air con system using water in the walls to cool the room but it is not sufficient enough to make the room a comfortable temperature. Asked for more water many times and extra towels but always having to ring and ask 3-5 times which is very frustrating when you have young children and run out of water all the time. Food was also good from both room service, restaurant and buffet. Getting here is a long trip but once you are here the hotel has nice views and is probably one of the nicer hotels in the area.
