B&B HOTEL Koblenz-Nord

Whilst the rooms had been recently refurbished and were in good condition, the reception area and lobby/ breakfast room were under renovation and completely unusable. We were notified of the works only two days before our stay by email. No details of the consequences of the renovation works were communicated, and the term for cancellation had expired, so we felt we had to attend. The consequences were that there was no breakfast service as advertised, WiFi was only available on the ground floor outside the building, as the necessary infrastructure had not yet been installed to provide WiFi in the bedrooms. Obviously there was no lobby to relax in, and during the day the place was swarming with workmen also in the areas which needed to be used by guests, such as the staircase. As the hotel is situated in a strange mixture of industrial units and retail outlets we had to drive to a bakery to have breakfast. Tea/ coffee making facilities as in British hotels were not offered. In view of the reduction in services offered compared to those advertised and the late notification of the renovation works without giving any details, we feel somewhat deceived, and we think that as a gesture of goodwill some compensation should have been offered. Naturally there is no easy way of enforcing this with the German equivalent of Trading Standards, but in Britain we would definitely have made a report.

The hotel is near the motorway and you have a code to check in. So you can check in at any time. For 1 night, arriving at 23.00 and leaving at 8 it ideal.

Perfect hotel if you have a car as there’s no restaurants or bars within walking distance. Lots of shops, outlets and supermarkets five minutes drive. Good for a night stop half way en route back to the UK.

Ibiz was clean and tidy inside,car park was a bit untidy,very limited eating places,had to walk couple of kilometers to kfc.apart from that had a good nights sleep.staff where very helpful
