Stayed 2 nights at New World Resort during off-peak season in August, and it was a great experience overall. The resort wasn't crowded at all, which made everything feel relaxed and comfortable. The standard of the property is good, and our villa was clean and well-kept. A highlight for us was the infinity pool — extremely long and impressively clean. Staff attentiveness really stood out. My wife sneezed once, and almost immediately a box of tissues appeared on our table — small gesture, but it showed how observant the team is. We also asked for insect repellent, and within 5 minutes staff came to fumigate our entire villa. It was also my wife's 50th birthday during our stay. We mentioned it to the staff, and shortly after we got back to our room, a free birthday cake was already waiting for us — almost like they were tracking our movements, haha! To our surprise, we got another cake the next day too. Such a sweet and thoughtful touch. One minor note: when we visited their Italian restaurant, we noticed a strong smell of oven smoke as soon as we walked in. I mentioned it to the waiter, and a manager came over right away to explain and apologize — very professional and sincere in how it was handled. Overall, a highly recommended stay. Great service, clean facilities, and a team that genuinely goes above and beyond for their guests.

The disappointment started from check-in. There was a booking issue, & instead of trying to calmly explain or offer a solution, the front desk handled it in a way that made me feel as though I had committed some kind of serious offence. I’m not sure whether it was a language issue, but the tone and choice of words came across as extremely rude & unpleasant. The villa itself was another disappointment. The toilet was not properly clean, there were mosquitoes everywhere, the fan was not working, and the water flow was so poor that after one person showered, we had to wait before the next person could use it. We felt like we were calling housekeeping every few minutes. The next day, after housekeeping cleaned the villa, they took away all the towels but did not replace them. We called for towels & had to wait around 30 minutes before they arrived. Although the villa has a private pool, it is surprisingly difficult for elderly guests and children to get into it safely. Given the depth of the pool, there should be proper steps or easier access instead of having to jump in. We were also surprised to be told that we could not bring outside food into the villa, despite having a large dining table & fridge. This would perhaps be understandable if the resort's food was excellent, but unfortunately, the food was far from it. If guests are staying for several days, how can they reasonably be expected to eat the same limited food when the quality isn't good? Overall, this was nowhere near the experience I expected from a 5-star resort, & at this price point. There were simply too many basic issues — service, cleanliness, facilities & food. Many of these problems could have been easily resolved with better attention & a more helpful attitude from the staff.

We had a very enjoyable stay at New World Phu Quoc Resort overall. The resort was clean and well maintained, and the buggy service was excellent—very convenient and efficient throughout our stay. The breakfast spread was also incredible, with a fantastic variety of options and definitely one of the highlights of the resort. That said, there are a few areas where the villa facilities could be improved. The water pressure in the shower was quite low, and the toilet flush pressure was also weak. The tiles in the shower area appeared rather worn and could benefit from some refurbishment. Another aspect we found uncomfortable was the lack of a proper door separating the toilet area. For a resort that caters to families, having more privacy in the bathroom would make a significant difference, particularly when travelling together as a family. Overall, we had a good experience and enjoyed our stay. With some improvements to the bathroom facilities, the resort could provide an even better and more comfortable experience for guests.
