We arrived to discover the hotel was locked. We phoned using the number provided by hotels.com and a receptionist answered to say she would be with us in 10 minutes. Sure enough, she turned up but only to explain that the hotel was closed - if we really wanted to, we could have a room for the night but no dinner or breakfast could be provided. There was no option other than to find alternative accommodation and here the lady was very helpful, suggesting we stay in Combrai. She kindly phoned the Ibis in Combrai for us and booked us in for the night and for dinner. She explained to us that she had twice emailed hotels.com explaining the situation about her hotel, but no response had been received.

We were visiting my great grandads war grave and booked two rooms for our overnight stay. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the rooms are clean as is the rest of the hotel. We had dinner there on a Saturday night where there are two set menus to choose from one of the options is suitable for pescatarians. This must not be missed the quality of the food and service is exceptional.

A lovely family-run hotel, with friendly service and excellent food Our only minus points are due to the location on a main road; so overnight traffic noise is a problem if you are a light sleeper, like to leave your windows open, and happen to have a room at the front. The 'menu of the day' dinner was excellent! Despite the traffic noise we will be back.
