The building has convenient access to nearby shopping and dining areas. However, the rooms and corridors are painted black with poor lighting, making it difficult to see and use the electronic door pad. The TV didn’t work during our stay, and there was no telephone in the room to contact the front desk. The dining area furniture was always stacked, so it was never possible to sit and use the space.

Check in online was easy and booking. Upon arrival I was given a number written on a card to access my room which failed meaning I had to visit reception for the guy to come up with a fob to let me in every time which was frustrating. The pillows were too soft and the bathroom had hair on the floor. The location was good as it was a short walk to lots of things.

Smelled of cigarettes, renovated works all day long, feels shady. Just a run down place that could very well be the prime location for a psycho thriller or horror movie or both. Don't go here.

Limited parking as hotel only has 6 parking spots available and it costs €18 or you pay €25 for nearby park house. The knob to the door in my room was broken had to lift up and push in to make it lock. The room and bathroom was tiny and there was water leaking which the property is aware off but before my arrival they laid a towel over the leaking spot when I woke of to pee I stepped into the pool of water. There was so much lint and dust in the air and the blanket was so tiny I couldn’t share with my friend. Overall if you’re on a tight budget this might work for a 1 night stay. The only positive thing is staff were polite enough and the location is close to the center of the city Bonn

The hotel is nice enough for the price but constant issue with the room key. Some of the power plugs didn't work. Overall for the time and money spent, it could've been a little better.

Unfortunately my time in Bonn was marred by my experiences at this hotel. From the moment I arrived I was met with disdain and a lack of respect from the man on reception who seemed to be more interested in getting rid of me than checking me in. The room was dusty, dirty, the heating did not work and the television was almost hanging off the wall. Stains in the sink and a loose shower rail. The bed and pillows were far too soft and not clean. I complained about the issues raised above and was assured that they would be taken care of. They were not. In fact for the first two days of my stay my room was not cleaned at all. Given that I was doing a fair bit of travelling and socialising I was not able to return to the hotel until the evening, at which point I was told that it was too late for the room to be cleaned. Eventually I was moved room for the final two nights. This room was better but was still not sufficient. This hotel is a disgrace and, bar the helpfulness and kindness of the two young ladies who work on reception, I would rather this as a 0/10 establishment. Sorry to say it but it's a dump. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere and do not even consider visiting this place. Absolutely terrible.

Odd renovation in black theme. Bed comfortable and new i think, towels soft which is a change from the exfoliating towels in most hotels. Fairtrade shampoo was a pleasant surprise. Not the most sevice oriented hotel in the world. My room was large but a little on the expensive side. I booked late when not much was available. Great location in the centre.

We demand a full refund as airconditioner is not working (its so hot and we’re all sweating so much, window is broken so cant even open for air… dirty! there’s only one person (who's also the receptionist) who’s trying to work on issues … bottom line, issue not resolved, we cant stay (too inconvenient, too hot, cant even rest)and had to transfer hotels which caused us too much stress looking for another hotel and unnecessary expenses! Pls fully refund as this is hotel’s and hotels.com’s misrepresentation!!

The main benefit of the hotel is its location - a few minutes walk from the station through the shopping streets. However, first impressions are poor - the outside approach of the hotel is filthy, cigarette buts all over the pavement and array of dead plants in containers. The hotel appears to have been recently taken over although the street signage has not been changed from the Hotel Consul (this was well-communicated beforehand). The rooms are old-fashioned and very badly designed. A half-used bottle of lotion was left in the bathroom from the previous occupant along with a USB charger and cable still plugged into the wall. Housekeeping is therefore poor. There are no bedside tables to put anything on and no easily accessible light either (nothing at all if you sleep on the left side of the bed!). For some inexplicable reason there are 2 fridges in the room taking up valuable space and many of the TV channels do not work. Given the shiny new signage in reception, it is to be hoped that the whole place will undergo extensive renovations.

I wish I could say our stay at this hotel was a pleasant one, but sadly it was anything but. Upon check-in, we were given a room that was in a shocking state. The lighting was faulty, the door was covered in dirt, the bathroom floor was sopping wet, and there was a thick layer of dust coating the headboard and TV. Naturally, we complained and were moved to another room that we were assured would be better. Unfortunately, the second room wasn't much better. It was in a sorry state of repair, with dust caked on the telly and hairs clinging to the bathroom wall. Various stains adorned the furnishings, and there was a gaping hole in the carpet, rather shoddily covered by a rubber doormat, along with stains on the walls and ripped wallpaper. The net curtains were sporting an array of mysterious stains. The corners of the mattress were harbouring grime, and the whole room had a distinctly musty odour, with the bathroom smelling particularly damp. The tired pillows weren’t fresh and the pillow cases so insufficient that we ended up using towels to properly cover them. The rest of the hotel didn't fare much better. The men’s toilet on the ground floor was in dire need of a good scrub, and the seating in reception was worn and stained. A musty smell permeated the entire building, which was generally in a poor state of repair. Its current state is simply unacceptable for a hire charging these prices.

Stayed for the Euros as close to Cologne. Very simple hotel but everything works. WiFi was ok. They did forget to clean our room but the staff were good and gave us a free breakfast. Would recommend only staying for a night or 2.

Staff was absolutely fantastic and so accommodating, letting me check in early free of charge even though it was not guarantee. The price for one night was exceptional. Additionally the bedding was immensely comfortable and the location of the hotel allowed for some evening sightseeing after dinner.
