Swiss-Chalet Merlischachen - Historik Chalet-Hotel Lodge

We loved our stay! The sauna was delightful and the staff very friendly. Our room had a very low ceiling and a door that we had to duck to get through. It would definitely not suit anyone taller than 176cm

Tasty breakfast. Restaurant hostess was very friendly and engaging. Parking and Check in location was confusing but once we found it, the front desk was cordial and helpful. The room felt very authentic though a little dark. Would stay here again.

It's a nice place certainly. Lakefront area is a major asset. Staff was very helpful and delightful. Breakfast was very nice. My room in the building without ensuite amenities was fine - small, only one electrical outlet for charging phones etc. One bathroom and shower for 9 rooms on my floor seems a little inadequate. A nice place for sure, but compared to other Swiss hotels with comparable amenities and location desirability, a tad overpriced I think.

The hotel itself is like a postcard of Switzerland. Traditional wood building. Big wooden floorboards, wooden walls in the bedroom. The room was like a movie set. I’ve given the 5 star review for the whole experience. I’m not comparing it to a Dubai 5 star but the whole thing was excellent. 5 minute walk to the train station or regular busses at the front door. Not only to take you into Lucerne but anywhere really. Public transport even took us to the top of mount Rigi. The hotel has a private area on the lake with sun beds and paddle boats. The whole area is kept clean. Breakfast was very nice. We got the room with the shared bathroom facilities which was never a problem. There are bathrooms on all floors if your floor is occupied but that happened once. If there was something I would recommend they improve it would be these facilities as they are a bit old and worn looking. We will definitely be back. Much cheaper than lesser hotels in Lucerne itself and very easy to access with public transport.
