Very good hotel to stay right at the heart of vandi Periyar. Room and Toilet - Very clean and all facilities provided. Hospitality - Very courteous and good staff. Responds very quickly and politely. Pricing - Affordable. Overall a very good place to stay in the heart of vandi periyar. Resorts are very expensive. But the rooms are so new and far better than resorts. If you don’t look for swimming pool, then this is the best hotel to stay near vandi periyar. Thekkady and kuttikkanam is around 20 kms from here. The only problem is with food. Vandi periyar is a small town with small local hotels. We bought the food from nearby local hotels and had it in room itself. Climate was very good, so ac was not required although ac was part of the charges. We had to come to a nearby place, that’s why we chose this hotel. A great hotel to stay with family.

Thekkady Gavi suites is sitauated right on the main road, few 100 mtrs before Vandiperiyar bus stand, Thekkady is atleast 14 KMs away, so dont be fooled by the name of the Hotel. It seems like a brand new hotel, well maintained and clean. Negatives are that there is no inhouse restaurant, reception staff disappear at night and we cannot reach them early in the day as well. There was no hot water for bath in the morning, reached out to the receptionist on his cell phone to complain, he responded saying that since Hotel is 100% occupied there is shortage of water. I asked whether that is a valid reason for denying hot water and he responds saying ARE YOU JOKING or SERIOUS sir. The staff need to be trained properly if they hope to run a succesfull buiness.
