I loved staying here as each room is so unique and beautiful, so much detail into all the walls, I loved the traditional Moroccan touches and design of the place, it really has so much beauty. That alone would make me stay here again. However, the staff wasn’t the most helpful and accommodating as I would have hoped for, one morning we came down a little after 1030 for breakfast and they told us they wouldn’t be able to make it for us anymore, so just be aware they aren’t flexible with that policy. Also, it wasn’t very clean, as my feet were dirty after walking on the floors of our room barefoot. And be aware of the loud clock tower right next door chiming all hours of the night, that woke me up a few times. Other than that, we had a great stay! It is in a great location, close to everything!

​I recently had the pleasure of staying at Riad Mumtaz Mahal in Essaouira from June 4th to June 7th, 2026. The experience was fantastic, and the Riad provided the perfect home base for exploring the city. I cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone visiting Essaouira.
