Phyllis Court Members Club

We were lucky and had a bedroom with a great view. The bed was clean comfortable and big. However thats where the positives of the bedroom end. The room, like allot of what i saw of the upstairs of the main building was in dire need of renovation or some serious maintenance and tender loving care. The carpet looked like it had been there for a decade or so, the trim next to the shower tray had fallen away leaving a dark hole where no one was even bothering to clean, full of hairs from all body parts. This doesn't sound like much but i wouldn't accept this in my home so why would i accept it for £270 for one night. In the morning 7am we were woken by the sound of the morning preparations, opening/closing the sun shades (an excruciating grind that feels like it goes on for ever), leaf blowing and jet washing. This is not what we were after seeing as this was a 1 night stay away from our two young kids. Why couldn't this be done later?! but also not at breakfast. The jet washing and leaf blowing continued just outside the window as we had breakfast in the very tired orangery. Bottom line is the location was great, our bedrooms view was beautiful, the bed was big clean and comfortable. But the place need renovation and i would not recommend a stay here to anyone. Also the staff were nice.

This is our second time here. Highly recommend. Such an elegant place. Old school but not stuffy. We had a great room, used the gym and had a excellent breakfast. A really lovely break.

We booked a Deluxe Double room with a King Size Bed and were very pleased with the spacious room. Our room was #3 and it was exactly as shown in the photos. The front desk staff were excellent. We chose to walk into town for dinner, as the dress code requirements are very strict and because we booked last minute were not aware of the dress code, perhaps something that should be mentioned on the website. Regardless it did not take away from our stay and would highly recommend this hotel for the history of the hotel and the beautiful outdoor grounds.

Very posh club but with warm and welcoming staff. The breakfast was excellent. Fabulous access to a beautiful gym. It was a great stay.

A very enjoyable stay. Excellent food and service. Good swimming pool. Convenient & safe parking. The room was smaller than expected & in need of some updating.

We had a wonderful four night stay at Phyllis Court Club, while attending the Henley Literary Festival. The location is beautiful, beside the Thames. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food in the restaurant is excellent. It is a short walk into town which has a good choice of places to eat and shop. Overall we would thoroughly recommend Phyllis Court to anyone visiting the area.

Great peaceful location by the river….

Hotel was nice and well- positioned. Large car park- which was a plus in Henley. Breakfast was lovely and cooked to order. Disappointed that leisure centre was out of action during our stay- as this was one of the reasons for selecting this hotel. Room opened out onto ventilation shaft which was a little noisy at times.

We were very pleasantly surprised when our room not only had a spacious balcony with a table and chairs, but also a lovely view of the Thames and the hotel grounds. The room price -- which was reasonable for such a nice room in a beautiful small town next to Oxford and near London -- included a comfortable king-size bed, a full breakfast that we ordered from a menu - and even included Scottish salmon - as well as the parking. Check-in and check-out were both friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

Nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff but the room was quite small and the TV was the smallest I have seen anywhere. Disappointing that the pool and restaurant close early on bank holidays but breakfast was excellent. Plenty of parking and a good location in Henley

The noise of the air con units from the kitchen started work about 4am. There was no air con in the room and it was extremely warm in there. We couldn’t open the windows because of the noise. Phylis Court is a lovely place to stay if you don’t have this type of room. The service is above and beyond the location is delightful and so near the town

This is a beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings and the staff were so helpful especially the guy in the bar who gave us tips where to go and eat if we chose eat out. I wish I could remember his name, he was an older member of staff and so helpful. The lunch menu was reasonable and the food looked delicious as was breakfast.
