it was very close walking distance to a great fishing pool of Ausable.

Overall it was a nice place very wonderful views right around it. I would bring or ask for extra pillows they where a little on the thin side. The restaurant has a lot of sea food so if you plan to eat there if you not a seafood person like myself I would eat at the tavern it's more of your everyday food and a little less expensive. It's in a good location to get to local attentions and has a nice hiking trail in walking distance.

The Hungry Trout Resort is a classic place to stay if you are interested in fishing the Ausable River. Very convenient with private access to the river. The fly shop on premises is excellent with great guides! The Pub was great in years past but is closed now. I really hope it reopens. The upscale restaurant is very nice with great views of the falls. Overall a solid place to stay without the hustle of staying in Lake Placid but close enough to go there for dinner.

Great location in the middle of the hiking destinations we had, the restaurant and bar were a great place to wind down after a long day of hiking. The restaurant staff were super friendly and welcoming, and made some great drinks. My only complaint is that the bed was rock hard, after hiking all day it was disappointing to lay on a hard bed. Other than that I was very satisfied with our stay.
