    Honestly, a disappointing experience, especially for a hotel under the Waldorf Astoria name. I arrived at around 2pm and politely asked whether an early check-in was possible, but the reception staff came across as rude and unwelcoming. I understand that early check-in is subject to availability, but the way a request is handled makes all the difference, especially at a hotel of this calibre. For a luxury hotel, I expected a much higher standard of hospitality, professionalism and attention to guests. Unfortunately, the service did not reflect the level of luxury or the expectations that come with the Waldorf Astoria name. A luxury stay should feel welcoming from the moment you arrive, and sadly, this was not the impression I received. Quite disappointing for the price paid, and I expected much better.

    They nearly ruined our anniversary dinner by not letting us check in on time, instead we checked in at 6:30. Not coming back.

    We stayed in the hotel for 2 days after a week sailing. The location is good being near lots of malls and relatively good access to the BTS. The staff were generally lacking in that unique Thai charm that one comes to expect and were more focused on presenting the hotel as a very upmarket hotel with for example the ‘best buffet breakfast in Bangkok’. Those we interacted with therefore came across as a little ‘snooty’. We stayed in room ***. We are not sure if the layout is the same for all rooms of the same Deluxe King Category but if so then guests should be made aware that it is not a particularly good layout. We only had views of the adjacent tower block next door and the odd shape of the room means there is possibly a lift shaft running though the middle of the room which creates a poor layout. If this layout is limited to only some of the rooms in the category then I would strongly advise the hotel to use it only when the hotel is fully booked (we were told the hotel was not particularly full). Otherwise the hotel risks guests like never staying in the hotel again because of the experience. Generally the stay was a poor experience compared to almost every other similar luxury 5* hotel in Bangkok (I have stayed in more or less all the top hotels). The gym is small and equipment is limited and the pool is likewise small and oddly shaped.
