Asawin Grand Convention Hotel

The room was very clean, the staff were lovely and friendly, and the service was absolutely excellent. We were very impressed with our stay and will definitely come back to stay at this hotel again!

I stayed at Asawin Grand Convention Hotel for three nights while attending a conference at the nearby Miracle Grand Convention Hotel. The location was very convenient, as it was only a few minutes’ walk from the conference venue. The hotel was approximately 40% cheaper than the conference hotel, making it an excellent value for money. The staff were very kind and helpful, and the room cleaning service was excellent. The main downside is that the hotel is quite far from public transportation, with Lak Si Station not really within convenient walking distance. However, taxis are readily available, so getting around was not a major issue. The hotel is also conveniently located for access to the airport. The rooftop outdoor pool and indoor gym were excellent, with beautiful views. The only minor issue was that the pool could have been cleaner, as there were some leaves in the water. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would recommend Asawin Grand Convention Hotel, particularly for conference attendees looking for a comfortable stay at a reasonable price.

Plus: Extremely nice and spacious hotel. Top-class service. The staff makes you feel like a true VIP guest. Good individual AC in each room that works as it should. Incredibly beautiful lobby. Incredibly beautiful breakfast hall. 2 bottles of water, 2 bottles of cola, and two small bags of potato chips complimentary every day. (In the suite you also get 2 extra bags of snacks and many more bottles of water.) Very well soundproofed hotel. Neither planes nor traffic are easily heard indoors. Minus: Poorly maintained hotel in several areas. Suite has cracks in the ceiling (Room 6006). Pool: Tiles are coming loose and missing. Large areas at the bottom where tiles are gone. Moss is also growing at the bottom, showing lack of cleaning/maintenance. Breakfast: The food is not top quality. Inedible bacon. Sweet & sour chicken was not good. The sauce was nowhere near a typical sweet & sour sauce. Stir fry chicken with ginger: Not good. Overwhelming taste of ginger—no other flavor came through. Limited fruit selection at breakfast. Usually only three types to choose from. Pancakes were served a couple of times a week, while both maple syrup and honey are placed out as if pancakes were always available. Light switches in the suite are impossible to figure out. Illogical and hopeless to get the lighting you want. It’s not like one switch controls only one circuit. And the switches don’t just have two modes (on or off). Uncomfortable beds (Room 715). No mattress topper, and you could feel the mattress construction through the sheet and fabric. In addition, the beds are harder than average. Not the best location except for a stopover to Don Mueang Airport. Extremely noisy traffic right outside the hotel. Especially noticeable at the swimming pool since it’s on the same side as the roads. Communication: Terrible! Sent an email to the hotel with some questions, but even after TEN days I still haven’t received a reply! Worthy of a 5-star rating? Personal service: Yes! Hotel facilities: No! Food: Absolutely NOT!
