I originally was only going to stay a couple of nights, but ended up extending my stay. For the first reservation, I had a standard room with a private bathroom. It was honestly so nice. It was quiet and calm. And the river being right there made for many wonderful walks. My second reservation had the shared bathroom/showers, which were still amazing. It was so clean, and if I were to travel here alone again, I'd probably do the shared bathroom.

The staff was very nice and went out of their way to chat with guests. The rooms are so comfy and nice. The shared bathroom/showers were also very well kept! I liked the location a lot, but people who are more interested in exploring Dotonbori might not like it as much. But this spot was very calm, and it's right off the river too!

The staff really are this establishment's greatest asset - everybody I interacted with was so kind and warm; unfortunately I couldn't get all staff's names to thank them personally but thank you in particular to Aya-san on reception for her kindness and warmth. The quality of food and coffee and food at breakfast is excellent; I loved having a menu rather than a buffet, and every item was consistently delicious with high quality ingredients; coffees (a range of single origin medium/light roasts!) were as good as any upscale coffee shop. The room was on the small side and a bit difficult to feel at home in without dedicated storage space, but it was very clean. WiFi speeds were not so good, averaging around 10mbps download speed at best, but occasionally much below that and sometimes dropping out completely. Overall though the staff really made this a very pleasant first location in Japan for me, and I will remember their kindness fondly - thank you!

Due to our late plane arrival, we could not check-in within the designated check-in window. As a result, we could not check-in the night we arrived and then the hotel cancelled the booking next day, charing us the whole booking amount.
In the confirmation email, there was no information on the strict check-in policy, which was misleading.
All-in-all, I would highly recommend a hotel with 24h front desk just in case there are unforseen circumstances like ours. We ended up staying at Hotel Resol Trinity and booked via Booking.com. A much smoother experience.
