Lock Keeper, Worksop by Marston's Inns

Staff were excellent. Unfortunately my room was not cleaned after the first night so there was no fresh towels, coffee, milk, etc and the waste bin was full.

Booking made in clear error and wouldn't fix!! Took my money and did nothing to help!!!!

Room is ok, better then a Travelodge but below a premier Inn. Found my self double booked apparently because I booked through a 3rd party. Had to find alternative stay for remaining days. Still waiting on refund after contact.

Easy check in and out, rooms clean and comfy. To channel selection was varied and the shower was great.. heard good reviews about the food in the pub as well but didn’t have any myself. Would stop again definitely 👍

Arrived to a beautifully lit driveway. Spent time gathering my luggage, securing my car and walking to the reception within the restaurant . The member of staff was warm, informative and friendly . She then told me I had to return to my car, drive on and the accommodation was an unattractive purpose built block located behind the lock keepers property. People clattered and returned all evening and night until 2am. At 4am residents with early starts, commenced their banging around and departing again. The room was clean and the bed comfortable but provided nothing more than a comparative travel lodge facility . Best described as basic z

The room was excellent. My problem is with the food. I had a poor meal from the carvery at around 7pm on the evening of my arrival. The meat on offer was dried up, a fault to which I drew the attention of the male server, who was unconcerned. I settled on the turkey, which appeared to be the least dry, and was offered yorkshire pudding and stuffing, which I accepted. I helped myself to peas, cauliflower in a sauce and small pieces of roast potatoes. I then helped myself to gravy and cranberry sauce. All the items on the plate were tepid at best, the cranberry sauce being the best of a bad meal. I came in for breakfast at 8am on the morning of my departure to find no member of staff in the bar or breakfast area so I rang the bell in the carvery. A young woman came out of the kitchen and when I explained that I wanted cereal, toast and tea she lost interest and indicated that as it was the continental breakfast I should help myself in the area adjacent to the kitchen. There was a sign indicating pastries next to an empty covered plate so I was only able to have the cereal, toast and tea, which didn’t seem like a continental breakfast to me. When I mentioned the absence of pastries to the young woman she made the excuse that they had to wait for delivery. I also explained about my bad experience of the evening before and that I would not be returning she just said I should do as I saw fit. So that’s another customer you won’t be seeing again.

Room was super clean and modern. The bar was pretty empty which made it feel unwelcoming. Service was slow checking in and the beer prices are expensive for the area. Breakfast was good value for money.

A modern, clean and friendly place to stay

Simple comfortable room, clean on arrival. Air condition. Quietish considering its on a busy road, roundabout. Across from the pub theres a Sainsbury's supermarket, pure gym, macdonalds and kfc. As for the lock keeper pub, food is average for this type of place. Expect greasy gammon, gooey burgers and steak/checken you can re-sole your cloggs with

Lovely location by the lock, as soon as we entered the bar area to collect key welcoming environment we made enquiries about the area as considering relocating everyone was so helpful. Room was comfy n clean perfect for our stay Food was lovely too.
