The space is nice if you have a big family or teenagers that need their space. Room service was good - limited options but the burgers were nice and its open 24/7. The food at the 2 onsite restaurants were good. I liked the italian restaurant - just make sure to book a reservation. The all you can eat restaurant was ok but the pressure to tip on a zero dollar bill after eating the same items from the buffet was very annoying. My teenagers did not like to go there because of this. It was like a lot of the workers only did their job if they sensed a tip coming. The shuttle to the sister resort - Royal sands was worth the trip for a different view. The mexican restaurant there was fun (reservation required) and they did not give the "zero dollar - tip" me bill. The concierge (Dan) who welcomed us and twisted my arms with incentives if i agreed to listen to the timeshare talk, was otherwise very nice. He helped with making all the restaurant reservations for my family and suggested nice tours for our interest level. the spa and gym are on the bigger livelier sister resort so put that in consideration. We were able to visit both and the mexican restaurant on our visit. Overall it was comfortable, and nice for a first time visit to cancun. I felt safe but I truly did not like the "tip me" culture. It was so in our faces that i did not let the housekeeper in our suite for the 3 nights stay. Will i visit again - yes but better prepared. Maybe i will try another resort for variety
