    This property sits directly on the Douro River in Pala. I’d say it’s better suited for couples than families or single travelers. Great place to relax as there’s not much commercial activity surrounding the hotel.

    we have been there on the weekend, it was extremelly crowded, almost no space to put towel, not chairs for everyone in the swimming pool. Waiting line for breakfast. I would advise not to go on weekends on "high" season, it kills the hotel experience.

    The hotel is in a idyllic location, it does have an odd style and parts of it feel like they need some more attention. The rule regarding swimming hats is very odd and I suspect just another way to tax visitors to cover the swimming pools operating costs. I stayed in late October the outdoor pool was closed although I would have enjoyed a cold dip. The hotel is good value for money staying in the off season £130ish per night I wouldn't be willing to pay much more for peak season. Overall nice stay and other than the appearance of such a large building it felt welcoming.
