9.2 / 10Outstanding·Oct 2026
We recently stayed at Hotel Arenal Kioro and generally we loved it as it is a fantastic place surrounded by nice nature with a long and lovely entrance and more importantly the best view of Arenal volcano 🌋 in the city
The suite room was super big and came with a jacuzzi, offering a fantastic view of the volcano, and the hot springs pool was cool and relaxing.
However, because we went in the low season ( I’m just guessing), there were a few downsides: breakfast wasn't up to 5-star hotel standards, one of the restaurants was closed during our stay, and the gym was outdated and super small.
Despite those minor drawbacks, we loved the hotel and its nice location.

Loved everything about the place, but just a heads up noise can be easily heard all day long, walls are not sound proff lol nor the ceiling s

The location is absolutely 7-star – stunning and unbeatable. However, if you’re booking through third-party sites like Expedia or Agoda, be aware that you’re unlikely to get a top-floor or volcano-view room, even if you request it. I had specifically asked for a top-floor, non-smoking room with two beds. While I did receive the non-smoking room and bed configuration, the top-floor request was not honored. The hotel staff mentioned that they never received these preferences from Agoda. It seems that guests booking through third parties may be assigned rooms that are less in demand or less desirable.
