    I've stayed in many intercontinentals and this is by far the worst - absolutely not worth the price. The main reasons are: 1) awful soundproofing to the corridor - you can hear everything from the corridor and as it's busy, it's constant noise. 2) small rooms (which adds to the problem above). Whilst I don't expect huge rooms in a tourist spot, these are small for one and would be cramped for two. 3) this is primarily a hotel for Chinese tour groups - this is fine, but even going in off season it was packed and not a relaxing atmosphere at all. Staff also seemed much more concerned about these groups than other guests and often times I felt like I was being shuffled off into a corner to make room for them. 4) whilst minor, it felt very rushed at check-in - you're standing up and rushed through it. The welcome drink is just dropped next to you whilst you're trying to pull out passports and the like. Most of these problems are just due to it being an extremely busy hotel with structural issues - the staff were pleasant, the gym was nice and the breakfast is good but it is absolutely not worth the cost.
