    Nice location - not too far from town - and was good overall. Staff were strangely absent during breakfast and before arrival promised to message me about a local tour but even after 4 follow up emails didn’t hear back from them.

    My recent stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Çanakkale left much to be desired. While the brand carries expectations of comfort and hospitality, this particular property struggled to meet even the most basic standards of guest experience. The hotel itself feels lifeless—devoid of energy or character. It’s as if the building is simply going through the motions, much like the staff. Unfortunately, the service culture seems to have missed the memo on warmth. Many of the team members appeared disinterested or disengaged, with a demeanor that suggested they’d rather be anywhere else. Smiles were rare, and hospitality felt like an afterthought. Around the property, there were noticeable lapses in professionalism. Cleaners were frequently seen charging their personal phones in the hallways—an unusual and inappropriate sight in a hotel of this calibre. At breakfast, staff stood with arms crossed, aimlessly walking through the space rather than assisting guests or maintaining the service area. The overall environment lacked leadership, coordination, and the attentiveness one expects from an international hotel chain. As for the breakfast—I'll say only this: if expectations are low, you won’t be disappointed. I’ll refrain from a full critique in the hope that this is an area the management will take seriously and review internally. In summary, DoubleTree Çanakkale has the infrastructure of a reputable brand, but the soul and service are missing. With better management, focused training, and a shift in attitude, this hotel could offer a far better experience. For now, though, it's a pass.

    Starting with the positives: the room was clean and parking is available. Also, the room has an iron and ironing board. Now to the negatives: breakfast was terrible (e. g. Limited selection, menamem was sour, some foods were not labelled, olives weren't nice, no salad dressing except for lemon juice, kaymak was actually cream cheese). It was raining when we exited the car to enter and there was no covered area. 2 of the hotel employees at the entrance just stood by without any umbrellas as we had to run in. Service was not warm and no personal amenities (e. g. toothbrush, shower cap, etc.) were provided in the room so we had to request it to be sent which is an unnecessary bother.
