We stayed here Aug 2025 to visit our cousins who live in the area. We booked through Expedia so we did not expect the best room (it seems like typically we get better rooms when booking through the hotel directly but a better rate booking through Expedia). Our room was on the first floor but was slightly above ground level. There is no AC and there were no fans. But there was a cute balcony with two seats. The room was clean. We checked-in quickly and were not offered any maps or instructions about the hotel (there is a pool but we were not told where it was although we also didn't have time to use it anyway). The location was perfect for us. We were able to walk around the lake (the Bostalsee) and drive to our cousins' houses. They do offer a few amenities although we were not told about these amenities when we checked -in (we were only told that the breakfast was $29 Euros PP if we wanted to add it.). Parking was free and easy, checkout was quick and easy and a little friendlier than check-in. We felt like this is mostly a local German vacation hotel and not as welcoming to non-German travelers.

The lobby, service, pool area and breakfast were great - even in the middle of corona-related hygiene measures. What dampened our stay was lack of connected rooms (we were travelling with small kids, so adjacent rooms wasn't a great option).

Our stay in this hotel was fantastic and I can't rate it highly enough. From the moment we stepped foot in the hotel we were impressed with the high standard of customer care, every member of staff we encountered was pleasant and friendly and we felt very well looked after. Our room was large beautifully decorated and comfortable with all the amenities we required. Breakfast was superb with a variety of high quality food on offer. The surrounding area was both beautiful and peaceful with plenty to do in the way of outdoor activities. This stay was just an overnight stop on our way to Bavaria but we enjoyed it so much we are considering long stay here next year.

We did not know what to expect having booked on the basis of other reviews. We spent a week at the hotel with our grandson (aged 8) and out stay could not have been more pleasant . The staff, general ambience, facilities and quality of food made our stay most memorable and we were sorry to leave. The area in general is peaceful but with good facilities and whilst the hotel almost has the monopoly on dining the quality of the food and service was impeccable and the cost most reasonable. We would certainly recommend this hotel for couples and families and be confident that anyone going by the recommendation would not be disappointed.
