An exceptional small resort with truly outstanding service, on par with what you’d expect from a five-star hotel in a major European or US city. The staff is always attentive, ensuring every need is met before you even have to ask. The villas offer complete privacy, making it an ideal setting for couples looking to enjoy a special getaway. Viceroy Riviera Maya was the perfect spot for our honeymoon! Our villa was spacious and private. We loved the outdoor shower and patio area that was just for us. Restaurant service and food was TOP NOTCH. We were blown away at every meal. Viceroy staff anticipated our every need and provided personalized, detailed service that helped us take advantage of all the resort had to offer. From our welcome tour to being coached how to ensure we didn’t go hungry despite an early checkout before restaurants opened, we were truly pampered for the duration of our stay. A special note to La Marea server Yoshio — he gave expert menu recommendations and his passion and enthusiasm for food made every dinner that much more enjoyable. We can not wait to return.
If I had to offer a critique:
- The neighboring property’s entertainment carried on late into most evenings and could easily be heard throughout the property.
- The jungle landscape is gorgeous but I wish we’d been able to enjoy a bit more sun from our private patio. The shade made the pool a bit too cool for our liking.
