    A stunning, huge 4 bedroom residence designed 25 years ago by a protégé of architect Geoffrey Bawa. This opulent and gorgeous city residence has only been let as a hotel since 2020. It is simply stunning both in its hardwood design with central courtyard garden & pool, and in the works of art which have been left in place by the original owner who is now the governor of Sri Lanka’s Western Province. Highly recommended for a city break. The intimate restaurant is also well worth eating at.

    Ishq Colombo was an unexpected delight in my quick trip to Colombo. It is in a safe area, surrounded by professionals and the university. And as the cherry on top, I did not hear a single tuktuk during my stay in this inner city accomodation. The quality of service from the staff and every curated item in the stay is exceptional. They clean your room while you are dining so every re-entry is spotless and prepare the room for sleep including a mini snack in a cloche by your bedside. Each guest is assigned a personal butler who goes above and beyond to make sure you feel safe and comfortable during your stay. I had Darshana who was so so friendly and helpful. Every goal I had, was his goal. As a solo traveler he helped me feel safe by making sure I arrived home safely every day even for late nights out. The food was superb and a lot of breads and sorbets are made in house. It really is a hidden haven that I would recommend to anyone visiting Colombo.
