Granny's House

We had a wonderful stay at Granny's House in Colombo. The property is clean, comfortable, and has a warm, homely atmosphere that makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The rooms are well maintained, and all the essential amenities are thoughtfully provided. The host, Renu was incredibly kind, friendly, and always willing to help with recommendations and anything we needed during our stay. Their hospitality truly made our experience memorable.

Clean, cozy, good location. Don’t expect a hotel, it’s more like a guesthouse type of property. With few rooms. Good value!

The staff is nice but it’s not exceptional service. They don’t speak English so don’t expect any guidance, tips from them. It’s a good place if you’re gone all day. We had some dogs that we could hear from our room that were barking all night. Also the rooms at the ground floor open directly into the ‘lobby’. So it might be noisy depending on the guests.

Room & communal space was very nicely appointed.

You have to go to the cafe up the road if you want anything to eat or drink. A(!) vegetarian option but nothing vegan. “Kitchen” area upstairs but you have to ask for utensils, cutlery, plates etc if you wantt to bring something back to eat/drink.
