Niranapa Boutique Resort

I really loved staying at Niranapa. The whole resort just gives this air of relaxation and tranquility, particularly with the architecture and design. Loved the ambience. We booked a deluxe poolside room which was lovely and super clean. Sheets were crisp and the king bed was a super-king (bigger than normal). The breakfast options at the restaurant are superb and because it is hosted at the restaurant it has a more premium feel than a normal hotel buffet. The staff were particularly attentive and extremely kind. We were consistently impressed with their level of service, including the restaurant staff, who always went above and beyond to make sure we were having a nice time. A good note compared to other resorts in Kata is that this one is less family-oriented, which means more relaxed atmosphere and less kids running around everywhere (lol). While there is not a spa, the next street over is lined with massage parlors! Hotel pool is lovely and clean as well. We will definitely be back at Niranapa on our next trip!

Thai hotel exceeded all of our expectations. The pictures don't do justice to how beautiful the resort and rooms are. We arrived early after a long flight and we're greeted by the wonderful staff. They took our bags and passports and did most of the checkin whilst we relaxed in the reception area. They brought us complimentary welcome drinks and snacks which was a really lovely little touch. Because our room was ready yet, they allowed us to store our bags and use the resort's facilities while we waited, so we got our swim wear and went to the pool. It was absolutely beautiful as you can see in the pictures. Our room was ready earlier than 15:00, so we were taken up with our bags already there. We were given a complimentary room upgrade and the room was just stunning! The hotel's products are really high quality and 4 bottles of drinking water provided and refilled each day is a really great touch when you can't use the tap water. Breakfast is a short walk to the front of the resort and was a good standard with a variety of foods. The fresh fruit is very comprehensive and we enjoyed dragon fruit and watermelon, freshly cut. It's worth noting that you are required to give a 3000THB deposit for any damages. We gave this in cash so we could receive it back immediately on check out. If you do so with card, then you get your deposit back in a few weeks. We had no issues and after a couple minute inspection on checkout, we received our full deposit back. I cannot recommend this hotel enough if you are looking to stay!

We stayed at Nirnapa for 9 days after spending 4 days in Bangkok. Our first impression of the hotel was good. It looked clean, modern, and well maintained. When we arrived at reception, we had to pay a security deposit. We were also told that if we didn’t have a credit card, the deposit would be more expensive, which we found a little strange. We were tired after traveling, so we went straight to our room, which was very nice. However, after that, we started experiencing several small issues throughout our stay. Phuket is an amazing place, and we spent most days exploring or relaxing at Kata Beach. On three different occasions, we returned to our room around 4:30 PM only to find that it still hadn’t been cleaned and that we had no fresh towels. After a full day out, all we wanted was to shower, relax, and head out for dinner, so it wasn’t pleasant coming back to an unclean room. Each time, we asked reception if someone could clean the room. We waited by the pool while housekeeping was supposed to come, but nothing happened. Eventually, we had to go back and ask a second time before anyone came. This happened three times during our stay, and we were disappointed that the room wasn’t cleaned until around 5:15 PM. We also ended up buying breakfast elsewhere because we weren’t particularly impressed with the hotel’s breakfast. It wasn’t terrible, just quite bland. The biggest issue, however, was the constant drilling while we were eating breakfast almost every single day. I’ve attached a video. The noise was unbearable, and it completely ruined the breakfast experience for us. The most frustrating part of our stay, though, was what happened with one of the towels. I had accidentally gotten some foundation makeup on it and received a note saying I would be charged 300 THB because the towel was “heavily stained.” I actually had no problem paying the fee if the towel was permanently damaged. However, I went to reception to collect the towel since I assumed I was paying for it anyway. When they showed it to me, there wasn’t a single visible stain left on it. The towel had clearly been washed successfully. I asked the receptionist where the stain was, since the photo attached to the note had been taken before it was washed. She agreed with me and couldn’t find any stain either. She said she would speak to her manager. For me, it wasn’t about the 300 THB. It became a matter of principle. It was frustrating to be charged for a towel that was no longer stained. In the end, the amount was simply deducted from our deposit. Since we were on holiday, we decided not to make a bigger issue out of it. The last thing we were disappointed with was the pool area. We decided to spend one relaxing day at the hotel, but once again it felt and sounded like a construction site. I’ve attached a photo. It really speaks for itself. It’s simply not the environment you expect when you’re trying to relax by the pool. That said, Nirnapa also has several positives. The staff were friendly, the hotel is perfectly located, and everything was clean and well looked after. I’d especially like to mention the gentleman who helped us during check-out, as he was extremely kind and helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, when you put all of these issues together, they had a significant impact on our overall experience. Because of that, we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
