    The kids enjoyed their stay in the family room with bunk bed, the playground and 2nd floor swimming pool. The hotel crew were all very kind and helpful. The hotel itself is not far from the beach which is just across the road .

    Here is the review rewritten with a much more urgent, firm, and assertive tone to ensure management and potential guests understand the severity of the situation. ⭐ (1 out of 5 stars) Stay Date: July 2026 Booking Source: Agoda As a loyal IHG customer, I am completely appalled by the state of the Holiday Inn Resort Phuket Karon Beach. This property is being allowed to deteriorate to an unacceptable degree while management continues to shamelessly charge full resort rates. To be absolutely clear: the frontline staff are the only saving grace of this hotel. The service team was excellent, polite, and worked tirelessly under what are clearly miserable, difficult circumstances. However, their hard work cannot mask the blatant neglect and gross lack of infrastructure investment by ownership and management. If you are considering booking this resort, be warned of the following severe issues: * Disgusting and Unsafe Swimming Pool: The main pool is a certified health and safety hazard. The main integrated filtration system is completely broken and has been replaced by a pathetic, makeshift setup of temporary pumps. The water level has been intentionally dropped by 20 cm just to bypass the standard overflow gutters—a situation staff admitted has been going on for a year! Because of this subpar arrangement, the water is consistently cloudy and filled with floating debris. Compounding the gross hygiene, there are broken tiles and exposed filter heads at the bottom of the pool. This is a severe laceration and limb-entrapment hazard, especially for children. * Completely Useless Wi-Fi: I stayed in room 3409 and had virtually zero connectivity. In a baffling display of poor design, the router is bolted outside in the open corridor. The signal stands no chance of penetrating the concrete walls and doors. Charging modern resort prices while failing to provide a basic, stable internet connection inside the room is ridiculous. * Widespread Property Decay: The resort looks like maintenance has been abandoned. During my stay, I encountered a broken, inoperable elevator, severe structural corrosion, an actual collapsed ceiling section, and highly dangerous trailing electrical wires left completely exposed in public view. Management is dropping the ball on basic guest safety, hygiene, and property maintenance. I will be escalating this directly to IHG corporate, and I strongly advise travelers to take their money elsewhere until this property undergoes a massive, long-overdue overhaul. ------------------------------

    As an IHG hotel, I expected a higher standard of quality. Unfortunately, the stay was disappointing. The Wi-Fi signal did not provide full coverage throughout the room, making the connection unreliable. Although the air conditioning was set to 22°C, the room still felt warm and uncomfortable. In addition, the room itself appeared quite dated and in need of refurbishment. Overall, the hotel did not meet the standards I would normally expect from an IHG property.
