Konya Dervish Hotel

This was genuinely the WORST hotel experience of my entire life. We arrived around 9 PM after a long, exhausting day of driving. The owner couldn’t find our reservation, even after I provided my name, check-in date, and showed him both my Agoda booking confirmation email and payment receipt. He showed absolutely no sign of being sorry or concerned. Instead, with an extremely rude and dismissive attitude, he told us that if we wanted to stay, we would have to PAY AGAIN, and only then could he give us a room! I had to call Agoda customer service MYSELF. Their representative eventually guided him through locating our reservation via Expedia. We wasted nearly an entire hour and couldn’t check in until almost 10 PM! He eventually offered a brief apology, but it felt insincere. To make matters worse, we were assigned a room right next to the hotel entrance and reception desk, with terrible soundproofing. I am a light sleeper and had specifically requested a quiet room when booking, but this request was not accommodated. The room was noisy late at night, and early the next morning I was woken up by loud banging, chairs being dragged, dishes clattering, and other noises. When I jokingly asked whether the room was safe due to its location, the owner immediately became angry, accused me of insulting and blaming him, and said, “You chose this hotel. If you don’t want to stay, you can leave.” The reservation was already non-refundable through Agoda, so leaving would have meant losing the money we had paid. It was also nearly 10 PM, and we were exhausted after a full day of driving. His attitude was unbelievably rude, hostile, defensive, and completely unprofessional. He kept arguing with me instead of addressing our concerns. I felt forced to apologize to HIM first, despite having done nothing wrong, because I was genuinely afraid he might refuse to let us stay. I was simply too exhausted to continue arguing. I genuinely love Türkiye and booked 13 nights in hotels throughout this trip. Every other hotel owner we encountered was kind, welcoming, and professional. This was the only place where we experienced such shocking disrespect. This wasn’t just my worst hotel experience in Türkiye — it was the worst hotel experience of my ENTIRE LIFE. Absolutely unacceptable hospitality. I would NEVER stay here again. One star is already too generous.
