I was so pleasantly surprised with this hotel experience. Firstly, it is 8 minutes away from the iconic Mt Rushmore memorial...you can't do better than that. Breakfast is a REAL breakfast, with great coffee in REAL mugs. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the front porch and veranda were perfect to sit and have an adult beverage after a day of touring. We loved it there!!!

Will stay here again. Parking ramp is very steep and only one car can pass through at a time so you have to be careful. Location is great as well and cat friendly

The Roosevelt Inn in Keystone, SD, is generally clean, but the interior feels older and mismatched compared to the charming exterior. We experienced some difficulty with our room door, as one of the hinges was coming apart, but we managed. The single elevator could also benefit from an upgrade.
In our room, the bed featured a thick layer of foam atop an older mattress, making it very soft and slightly unstable. Additionally, there was no vent in the bathroom, which we felt was a drawback for the overall building.
The indoor pool was closed for maintenance, while we were there. Both the indoor pool and lack of vent must have contributed to the musky smell upon first entering the hotel.
On a positive note, the laundry facility was great for our road trip, allowing us to avoid the hassle of finding an outside laundromat.
Breakfast was provided and was quite good, with slightly different options each day.
