My room was besides the escalator causing noise by any move Dinner was excellent. Breakfast also. The street was very noisy but with windows closed was ok.

We arrived at prime check in time but no one at the desk, and it took 10 minutes and ringing the bell multiple times before anyone showed up. The room was very basic, and was on the first floor. It was incredibly hot, and although there was a fan, even with all windows open, it didn’t cool off. The fridge in the room was also putting out exhaust heat, adding to the misery. Being on the first floor, with windows open, we heard ALL of the street noise of which there was much - teens racing cars, pumping loud music and throwing firecrackers, in addition to standard traffic and street noise. The only plus was being able to get to the Gotthard tunnel before traffic backed up during a summer weekend.

As the Gotthard Tunnel often is congested, with hour long waiting at each end, I decided to stay in Biasca to be first in line the following morning. Il Giardinetto proved to be a nice and cost-effective surprise. The room was quite simple, and rightly priced considering that bathroom and shower was shared in the corridor. The restaurant was quite good and a pleasant gathering in the evening.

This hotel was in a good location for us but we were disappointed by the lack of air conditioning in the room. The good was outstandingly good but breakfast carried a note saying in no way could food be removed from the breakfast room. This suggested we would steal food which we found very annoying.

The rooms & bathrooms were pretty small, but clean. TV took a little bit of working out, and the duvet and pillow covers were odd, and slightly uncomfortable. Not a place I would recommend to stay for more than a couple of nights but good for those hiking or touring. The Restaurant however is superb. Excellent food and drink, and the staff are generally friendly and helpful. The gelati are very good indeed.
