    I first came to the Stoweflake Inn, aas it was called back then, in 1971. It's much, much bigger and more elaborate now, but still a very special place. Clean and comfortable rooms, great swimming pool, good breakfast, and very helpful and knowledgeable staff, too. Right at a trailhead for the Stowe Ramble nature path, too.

    No where during booking did it say the resort was under renovations, but it was. There was no way to control heat in our room, but we had a portable AC unit. The handle in the shower just spun, 360, so adjusting the temperature was a guessing game. The breakfast included was grab and go, nothing hot and very limited choices. On top of these things our room door kept popping open. We brought our bags in, closed the door and started to settle in. I went to shower and the door was open. I'm glad my child is older as that just isn't safe. My husband had to force it closed, lift up on the door and push in all to get the deadbolt to latch. The location was great, central to everything.
