The Westin Waltham-Boston

Rooms were decent sized and beds were very comfy and clean. Front desk was friendly and helpful.

Conveniently located off the highway. Clean and lovely property with an awesome view from the bar and lounge area. Didn’t appreciate housekeeping come knocking 1.5-2 hours before checkout. I guess it’s the norm these days, so remember to hang your DND sign. Detached free parking garage building is a big plus. However, it could use some upkeep, not very clean with abandoned vehicles. But I guess that’s the trade off for being free and usually with anything shared (with other nearby hotels), it’s a challenge for anyone to take responsibility. Upgrading to soft close toilet covers and seats would be a nice touch. I guess shame on me, but I’m really not accustomed to free-falling covers that slams close. I’m not sure if it’s selective rooms, but only a mini refrigerator was in the room, no microwave. Maybe a way to cut cost on maintenance & repairs, and maybe more hotels are transitioning to this cost saving model.

The front desk staff was amazing. The staff in the restaurant was also amazing. We were there for five nights and only requested our room to be made up for one of those nights. When we came back to the hotel that evening, they didn’t leave extra toilet paper, plastic cups, lotion etc. We had a mini suite with a sofa bed in the living area. When we returned to our room, the two blankets for the sofa bed were just crumbled up into a ball on the bed and same with the robe. They didn’t even bother to vacuum our room. The room looked exactly like we left it except they were nice enough to leave us clean towels and pull up the comforter and the sheet in the main bedroom. Very disappointed. It was nice to have the free breakfast but honestly, the food in the restaurant was tasteless. We had dinner in the restaurant only one night and I could not believe how expensive it was. The Caesar salad was $17 and the hot fudge sundae was $16. How in the heck do you justify that? After we checked in and got to our room, the sofa bed had no blankets, no pillows, no comforter. We had to call down to get those so that our granddaughter could sleep comfortably. And also the sofa bed was horrible. I don’t think she had one night‘s great sleep and she’s 16 so she’s not a little child she knows what’s happening.

The Burger Bar was Good and the rooms were nice
