    We have stayed here over the years, when it was under different managements. It feels a bit different now but the location is great. The staff was very helpful.

    We stayed at Clermont Hotel, Charing Cross primarily because of its excellent location, which is undoubtedly one of its biggest strengths. It’s very convenient for getting around London and close to many attractions, restaurants, and transport links. That said, there were a few areas that could be improved. If you’re a light sleeper, it’s worth noting that the street noise can be quite noticeable, even in the early hours of the morning. During our stay, there was still significant noise around 2-3am. We also noticed an unpleasant smell in the lobby and other carpeted areas of the hotel, although we couldn’t identify the source. It may be time for a deep clean or refresh of the carpets, as this would likely improve the overall atmosphere. The staff were generally polite and helpful. However, housekeeping was inconsistent during our stay. On our second day, despite activating the room service indicator, our room was not serviced until we followed up with a request. The same happened again 2 days later on a Sunday, but as we were checking out the following day, we chose not to raise it. Overall, the hotel’s location is a major advantage, but improvements in housekeeping consistency and general upkeep would help enhance the guest experience.
