Easy to park, easy to check in. We requested a roll-in bed and they delivered on time. Clean room, bathroom has a shower stall and a bathtub. A popular Italian restaurant was just steps away from the front desk area. Free breakfast was good. Location was close to highways, grocery stores, department stores, but the hotel area was quiet.

This property is in an area where there are a lot of bears. Rather than spend money on trash cans that bears can not get into, they have regular old garbage cans that bears can get into. Every single night, every single trash can gets knocked over and pilfered through by bears. Have you ever been confronted by a large bear when coming back to your room at night? It's not fun at all and very dangerous. Why this property refuses to only allow bear proof trash cans like other local businesses is beyond me. Additionally, the wifi is slow and has a very weak signal. This too could easily be fixed with money but they choose not to do anything about it just like their bear issue with the trash cans.

I always choose Holiday Inn when im on vacation. But unfortunately this time i was extremely disappointed. The location was close to all our ventures for my sons soccer tournament. But our room had mold then they moved us to another room with one bed whixh was very disappointing because they didnt have anyting available. When we wanted a refund it was refused and was reluctantly given another room. While in this new room not only did out keys constantly stop working buy at night time a couple came into our room while we were in bed. The ventilation in the rooms is poor. The carpet is very dirty can't walk barefoot would not stay there again.

Only one issue is they some had mixed up that I had checked in already when I hadn’t. After 20mins they sorted it out and we selected a room of our choice. Other than that, room was good, close to shops, quiet, had a bear at our front door and breakfast was sufficient.

Fantastic location, very clean rooms and property. The bed was comfy and the pool/hot tub area was great. Buffet breakfast had a variety of hot and cold food, as well as drinks. We will definitely stay here again! *Side note…we learned that Lakeside beach, (which is walking distance) is a gated, private beach that charges $30 per adult for a day pass. They were sold out that day so we had to bike a little farther to find a public beach.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! Booked on line and paid in full thru hotels.com. When I gave my credit card for incidentals I was charged again full price for hotel when I checked out. I brought this to staffs attention who said this was "negative" charge. I was not! Working all week to get charges reversed. I have receipts for both charges. Keep getting run around from holiday inn... no manager available, I don't have code, I'll have to look into this..... excuse after excuse!!! No choice but to take this up further and report fraud to credit card company and report them to the Better Business Bureau. While hotels.com staff have tried to help, still no resolution after a week.

We booked a suite with 3 beds for a 1 night stay. Very conveniently located near downtown South Lake Tahoe. Scooters across the street were a bonus for getting around. Breakfast was great, parking was very easy. Clean Rooms.

This property was a very pleasant stay. I was a little apprehensive because my experience staying at the Holiday Inn in Carson City was atrocious but because of the reviews I decided to give it a try. Very glad I did. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable. Not fancy but very nice and the location convenient and walkable to everything.

Shopping, restaurants and casinos are all just a few minutes walk away. You can even walk to a private beach within 15 minutes walk. Good breakfast included with your reservation. I have stayed at the hotel several times and quality has been consistently good.

This is a great hotel in a great location. Staff was very friendly which is always a big plus. The room was clean and in great condition. Bathroom was a nice size. We also enjoyed the pool and the hot tub.

First, the property is extremely old and poorly maintained. The room we were given had a strong, unpleasant odor that made it uncomfortable to stay in. To make matters worse, our room was located directly above the reception area—an odd placement that offered no elevator, which was quite inconvenient, especially with luggage. The worst part of the experience, however, was the front desk staff. The person on duty was incredibly rude and dismissive. When I requested a room change due to the smell and location, he flat-out refused. Strangely, when my wife made the same request shortly afterward, he complied. This behavior felt like blatant gender discrimination, and it's completely unacceptable in any service-oriented business. Despite having prepaid for the stay through Expedia, the hotel placed an additional $945 hold on my credit card. When I called to inquire, the same front desk agent told me to “talk to my manager” and then hung up on me. I’ve tried following up several times, only to be given different excuses with no resolution. Overall, this was one of the most unpleasant hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Between the outdated facilities, the smelly room, the unprofessional and discriminatory behavior from staff, and the unexplained credit card hold, I would strongly advise others to stay away from this hotel.
