Moorswater Lodge Country House with Wine Bar

Juan and Peter were super welcoming and we had a great (if brief) visit - we would certainly book again when we are in the Liskeard area. We enjoyed the pet welcoming committee - both dogs and cats which was lovely.

They pretty much thought of everything!

Lovely large house, great lounge and comfortable rooms

We needed a restful and relaxing stay away from our busy life and this property absolutely delivered the peace and tranquillity. Our spacious king room overlooked the beautiful gardens and in the mornings we listen to the birds singing. The room had a huge bathroom with a bath and plenty of drawers and surfaces to store toiletries (which is not always the case, even in top hotels). Tea and coffee facilities were provided. The super king size bed was very comfortable. Juan and his "right hand" Anthony took great care to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Juan's breakfasts (full English or shakshuka) were exceptional and the coffee was divine. The chef's dinner table in the hotel was not available during our stay but we had a lot of fun tasting Mexican street food in The Mexican Garden restaurant (near the entrance inside the sweeping gardens of the Lodge) where we could watch Juan and his team prepare our food. We guess that because Juan lives in the Lodge too there is a homely and welcoming feel to the place and we greatly appreciated that. Thank you, Juan. Thank you, Anthony.

This is not what we didn't like, it is just a helpful tip: do not follow your car navigation to Old Road, Liskeard. Use directions to The Mexican Garden via your mobile phone instead.

Moorswater Lodge is beautiful. It is clear that it has been lovingly restored and the grounds are immaculate.

There is nothing to dislike about the property.
