The village of Pitoes das Junias, completely lost in the middle of nowhere, seems to belong to another era, where cows wander through the village streets every morning and every evening.The barbecue in the village square every Wednesday, and complete silence after midnight, when all the villagers have gone home with full stomachs. The great kindness of the people, who are always patient and understanding towards tourists, living in peace and harmony. The delicious meat at Dom Pedro’s restaurant. The fact that dogs are welcome and can roam freely in the streets alongside all the other dogs in the village.
Having to drive for one to two hours, weaving in and out along country lanes, for even the shortest trip out of Pitoes, and 35 minutes just to get to a supermarket.
