Oakenclough Hall

The property was set in beautiful countryside. The house and garden were beautiful, exceptional in fact, with glorious views overlooking the garden waterfall and surrounding fields where sheep grazed. The house was superbly decorated and well kept. Due to a cancellation we were offered the top floor suite of rooms at a reduced cost which we eagerly accepted. The first morning a full English was served in the kitchen at the breakfast bar overlooking the waterfall and fields. It was excellent value. The hosts were very welcome and friendly and even borrowed us swimwear for the hot tub!

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. Everything was wonderful.

A beautiful and kind couple who run the rooms, the room itself was super clean and had everything you needed. Beautiful view from the room windows. Cannot recommend it enough

Dawn & Jonathan were amazing hosts, giving myself & my husband a lovely warm welcome into their beautiful home upon arrival (and their beautiful dogs Shadow & Lucy!). The place was spotless & the decor exquisite throughout, with breathtaking views surrounding the property & a calm/peaceful vibe. We originally booked the king deluxe room but were offered to upgrade to the apartment for a small supplement. Wow! Well worth every penny. It was home from home, with everything you could possibly need, kitchen with all appliances/utensils, a spacious bathroom with double walk in shower, living area with 2 lush sofa’s & a large widescreen TV, and a gorgeous bedroom with a super king size bed & lush feather down pillows/duvets. There was also a utility room with a washer/dryer & separate fridge/freezer. We had booked use of the hot tub, however due to the rain, unfortunately we couldn’t use it. We opted for the cooked breakfast in the morning, I advised that I had a gluten intolerance & Dawn explained that she’d do her upmost to provide me with an all-in gluten free dish. Omg she did good! Jonathon kindly delivered it right to our door at the agreed time. It was delicious & plentiful, 10/10. Speaking of food, worth a mention - if you’re looking for somewhere to have a meal, we visited the Sutton Hall during our stay, just 10mins down the road & the food was exceptional, staff were very friendly & they also had a generous gluten free menu. We will definitely be staying here again in the future, my only regret is not staying another night! We shall be back - thanks Dawn & Jonathan.
