What a lovely surprise! We were a little uncertain about the bus and walk with our bags, but it was absolutely worth it! Outside the crush of crowds further south (especially on a long weekend in early autumn), we were able to enjoy friendly local restaurants and see everything we wanted to via the Hakone FreePass. The generous space is new and very well appointed, and we were thrilled to have a washer/dryer midway through our trip. Being able to sip my coffee while looking at the back garden was a highlight. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Perfect. We did opt for an Uber rather than pulling our bags back to the bus stop when we checked out. :)

Private and cozy
