Barnbackle Cottage

This was our second stay at Barnbackle Cottage, and we loved it just as much as the first. The cottage is spacious and had great access for my mam, who has mobility difficulties, while the large garden was perfect for Jaxon. The location is peaceful and tranquil, with fantastic countryside views, lots of lovely local walks and beautiful red kites regularly flying overhead. We especially loved seeing Rocky the horse nearby—he became a real highlight of our stay! It is also ideally situated for local attractions, with supermarkets around 15 minutes away, dog parks within 10 minutes, and both the Inn on the Loch and the Galloway Arms close by for fabulous food. Barnbackle is a wonderful place to relax and unwind, and we would happily return again.

Very nice, spotted clean and comfortable accommodation with all needed facilities. Cosy lounge with fireplace , smart tv and board games for those rainy days. Great location , close to Dumfries (bus line connected) but quiet and surrounded by beautiful fields at the same time . Amazing and super friendly owners ready to help out in any situation !
