Vila Kulla Apartment

The host was very accommodating and responded quick! The villa was spacious clean and in a great locetion - less than 10 minute walk to the promenade and beach!!

What I liked most about this stay was the exceptional hospitality from start to finish. From the moment I made the booking, the communication with the owner's son was outstanding - he was incredibly helpful and kind throughout our entire stay. This level of personal attention made our family vacation truly special. The apartment's location couldn't have been better - just a 5-minute walk to both the beach and local supermarkets, which made everything so convenient for our family. The hosts were genuinely warm and welcoming people who clearly care about their guests' experience. While the parking is outdoors, it worked perfectly fine for us and added no inconvenience to our stay. Overall, everything exceeded our expectations, but it was really the genuine kindness and excellent communication that made this place stand out. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to other families and would love to return in the future.

A few minor points for improvement: The mattresses were showing their age and we could feel some springs, which affected comfort slightly. The bathroom setup is a bit old-fashioned - you need to dry the floor after showering as there isn't proper separation. However, these are really minor issues that didn't significantly impact our stay.

Fortunately, we got the ground floor apartment. It was a perfect resting place for our group of 7 friends. Spacious enough, with one bathroom and fridge per room(!), a smoking terrace, and a quiet neighborhood. The area was also tolerant - we were moderately noisy at times, but it was never an issue. The staff was very kind and helpful. We invited a girl we made friends with to the terrace; the host politely asked about the situation, reacted fairly, and since we hadn't invited her to stay overnight, she let the matter go. When there was an issue, they texted back in minutes via Whatsapp and solved the problem quickly. The beach is only a 10-minute walk away. There are shops, restaurants and cafés nearby.

We had to specifically ask for a refill of toilet paper, as there was none stored anywhere inside the apartment. Even then, we were only given one extra roll for two bathrooms and seven people. My friends ended up buying a whole pack instead of having to keep asking for it one by one. There is a washing machine, but no detergent was provided. I travel a lot, but I not often encountered this before. We only had two loads of laundry to wash during our stay. Yet we had to buy a full liter of detergent for that, which of course we couldn't bring back on the plane (hopefully the next guest will find it useful). It's cheap, and there's a store nearby - the real issue was that we had planned to do laundry in the evening so our clothes could dry overnight, but this way we bought the detergent next morning. There was no shower curtain, so water would flood the bathroom floor every time someone showered. Unless we thoroughly mopped it up after each use, the floor stayed constantly wet - unless you wanted to soak your socks or drag water everywhere, going barefoot was the only option. (they have slippers, but well. they were very slippery. I wore them for 5 minutes and almost fell 5 times, so I took them off for good) While the beach is nearby, in the evening nothing is open there. The downtown nightlife is far away - you'll need a taxi to get there. Durres is a shady place at night if you go one street further from the beach, so that applies for the territory of this place as well. For seven men it wasn't a problem, but for girls it could be scary.
